ReplyDeleteHi Dwight! This one had an interesting start. I wrote a short story as a way of coping with a random trip in 100 degree weather (with my now ex-husband) to a Rangers game with his work colleagues. I penned a short read about a rookie's first baseball game, reuniting with the girl who got away. I had a lot of people tell me how much they loved the banter between the two leads and they wanted more of the story. I had ideas about where I'd like their narrative to go, but ultimately, couldn't really sort out what one path their relationship would take. And then over 10 years later, I penned a back in time short story - when they first met. In college. It reminded me how much I wanted to revisit their shared story... So I finally decided to buckle down and give it a go - 16 years after the characters and the premise first appeared in my head.
